TAG Eligibility letters were placed in US Mail this morning (4/1) so you should receive your letter by 4/3. If you do not receive your letter by 4/10, please email Kim Reagan at [email protected].
We have completed all testing and are wrapping up the last bit of scoring and paperwork. The TAG Eligibility Team will be meeting on 3/30 to verify the results and deternine eligibility.
We plan to mail the letters on or before 4/2. If you do not receive your letter by 4/10 please email Kim Reagan at [email protected]. In spite of missing 4 days during our testing window, we have completed all of the testing that requires students to come to the TAG classrooms (except for a few make-up tests for students who have been absent). Teachers are in the process of completing the Motivation Rating Scales, and in the next two weeks, some students will be completing the creativity products in their general education classrooms.
We expect to have all testing completed, and all test scores returned to us by Spring Break. We plan to mail the letters the week we return from break. As stated in the letter mailed with the Consent To Test letters, we are notifying parents of 5th graders as soon as we are able to determine eligibility. Eligibility letters were mailed this afternoon. If you are expecting a letter for your student and you do not receive one by Thursday, please email Kim Reagan ([email protected]) or Becky Blackman ([email protected]). Keep in mind Friday is the last day prior to Thanksgiving Break.
The Sweet Apple TAG Eligibility Team will be meeting Monday. November 17. Letters will be placed in the US mail the same day.
If you have a student in the 3rd or 5th grade who was tested this fall, and we were able to determine eligibility (either yes or no) without the ITBS scores, your report will also be mailed on the 17th, but will not include the ITBS scores. We will add the ITBS scores to your child's records once they are available to us. ***If ITBS is the determining factor for eligibility, we will call you on the 17th to let you know the status. You will NOT receive a letter if eligibility depends on ITBS scores. We will have a meeting for the parents of the eligible students Friday 11/21 at 7:30am in the TAG classroom (A169 on 1st grade hallway). Students who are eligible will start TAG the week after Thanksgiving break. We have begun the process of testing our first graders, and we will continue testing the week of 10/20 and 10/28. Most of the students we are testing need 4 more days of tests. A few who were tested last year may only need one or two days. Please do not be concerned if your child tells you some students were taken for testing but he/she was not.
We have completed all of the "pull-out" testing for 2nd thru 5th. We are still having teachers complete the Motivation Rating Scales, and creativity products will be completed in the general education classrooms this month (for students who need a creativity score and have already taken the TTCT). We are waiting for the TTCT (Torrance Test of Creative Thinking) scores to be returned, and we need ITBS scores for 3rd and 5th. The ITBS will be given the week of 10/20 and we hope to have the scores by the end of November. We very much appreciate your patience with this process.
We are in the process of wrapping up the testing process for Spring 2014. We are still waiting for a few scores to be returned, but we expect them to arrive any day. The TAG Eligibility team will be meeting on Monday May 12 to complete the process. Letters will be mailed home via US Mail on May 12.
Testing for the TAG program is postponed for one week. We will begin testing the week of March 3, and complete testing on or around the 14th. The plan is to test K, 1, and 2 the week of March 3rd, and 3rd, 4th and 5th grades the week of March 10.
A few things to keep in mind: 1. All children being tested will not get the same tests. If your child comes home and tells you we took a few kids from his or her classroom, but we didn't take your child, do not be alarmed. This just means we were giving a test your child does not need. 2. If your child has been tested within the past two years, and the Consent to Test letter indicated he or she only needed creativity and/or motivation, we will not be pulling your child for testing outside of their classroom. 3. We expect to mail results home by the end of April. When we have results for all of the tests, I will update this site and let you know the exact date the tests will be placed in the mail. We never discuss scores or results with students (though some of them will ask us EVERY day:) |
