I’m Cori Holmes and I am delighted to be back at Sweet Apple on a regular basis. I taught 5thgrade here for 8 years and then retired, but I missed working with 5thgraders so much that I jumped at the chance to teach TAG this year. Since I started college as a part time student after my own children were in school, I was on the ten year plan and finally graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1996. Before moving back to Georgia (I lived here once before in the 80s), I taught 4th and 5th grade in Barrington, Illinois. I earned my TAG certification for Fulton County in 2008.
I live in Milton with my husband, Jay, and our two wheaten terriers, SuzyQ and BarbyQ. I have three married children and, after
lamenting for years that I would never be a grandma, I now have three adorable grandchildren and another one on the way. Unfortunately, none of them live nearby so I spend a fair amount of time traveling to Chicago and Knoxville to visit. Otherwise, I love the beach,
reading and working in my garden. Like Ms. Blackman, I am a Steeler fan (by marriage – Jay is from Pittsburgh). It doesn’t look like
this is going to be a great season, so take it easy on me J
